Take inspiration from the rich history of Anatolian rug weaving and create your own miniature woven textile to take home. Participants will learn basic loom weaving techniques and design their colourful wall hanging. The workshop is a relaxed and creative introduction to the patterns, colours and traditions of Turkish textile-making, with no previous weaving experience required. To complement the workshop, participants will also have the opportunity to experience a little of Turkish hospitality, with traditional Turkish tea brewed and served alongside Turkish delights. Sharing tea is an important part of Turkish culture and provides a welcoming opportunity to connect, chat and explore ideas around community, culture and belonging. Best suited to ages 16+. $13 per person (all materials provided).
