The Friends of Kiama Library aims to support and enrich the Kiama Library Service and local community, while providing a stimulating and enjoyable program for members.
Come and join us for author talks, book launches and literary social events, and meet like-minded people who share a common love of literature and who recognise the invaluable resource that our local library provides to our community.
Funds raised by the Friends help purchase extra resources and technology equipment for our library. In the past, the Friends have purchased 3D printers, large print books, book kits, board books for every child born in the Kiama area, and competition prizes for school holiday programs, among other things.
People under 15 years of age are welcome to come to our events free of charge and don't need to book - just come along.
Membership
In addition to joining a friendly community and supporting a great cause (our library!), members receive a regular newsletter about library activities, plus a discount to regular events (usually $8 for members, $10 for guests, which includes a delicious afternoon tea).
Individual membership costs $10 per annum.
The renewal date for all memberships is 1 July each year, and memberships can be purchased or renewed anytime from 1 May.

After 1 July 2025, the Friends newsletter will only be sent to current financial members of the Friends of the Library, although guests are, of course, welcome to continue to attend Friends events.
