BRODIE, Charles

Charles Brodie, a native of Essex, was transported to Australia in 1834 for the crime of ‘Stealing cloth’.

MANLEY, Jane

In 1833, Jane Manley arrived on the shores of Port Jackson. She was 16 years old, able to read, and a nursemaid by calling.

MOORE, Henry

Henry was one of the oldest convicts to arrive in the Illawarra when he was dispatched to these distant shores for an unspecified crime (felony) for a term of 7 years.

Edward was 23 years old, could read, and is reported to have been a carter and baker prior to his conviction. The price for stealing a coat, as a second offence, in 1833 England, was 14 year’s transportation.

NOBLE, Archibald

At the age of 17, Archibald Noble was banished from his native shores and cast upon those of a far distant land - the penal colony of New South Wales.

WESTBURY, Charles

Charles was 17 years old and, along with his 15-year-old friend James Wicks, had relieved the premises of a Mr. John Cleere of St. John the Evangelist, Westminster, of goods to the value of 34/- (34 shillings). He was found Guilty, and the sentence was Death.
