Outdoor Library @ Kiama Winter Street Festival

It's the Kiama Winter Street Festival and the library is heading outdoors to join in the fun!

Drop by between 12 and 8 pm for craft and activities for all ages, including our new Seed Library seedling swap, scavenger hunt, personalised poetry with Butch Schwarzkopf, felt crown workshops, paper lantern workshops, as well as our pop-up library stall full of treats for library and book lovers.

Check out our pop-up market stall with bookish delights for library and book lovers of all ages. 

Treat yourself or someone special to a book bag, mystery book, gift pack, notebook, and more.

All funds raised go towards supporting the library. 

Seed Library launch with seedling swap

Libraries aren’t just for books! Gerringong Library has added seeds to our collection to help you start or supplement your gardens, learn more about things that grow well locally, and to foster a spirit of mindful sharing within our community.

And we're having a seedling swap at Winterfest to celebrate. Drop by and find out how the Seed Library works and remember to bring your seedlings to swap!

Scavenger hunt

Come and visit the library stall and complete a fun scavenger hunt through the street festival! We’ll give you a game sheet and marker, and you can follow the clues to different locations. Once you complete your game sheet, return it to the library stall for a fun prize.

All entries will also go in the draw to win the grand prize of a $100 voucher for The Bookshop Kiama.

Personalised poetry with Butch Schwarzkopf

Poetry has long been renowned for its ability to soothe the mind, lift the spirit, and inspire the heart, even on the coldest of days. 

Drop by for a free personalised poem just for you, or perhaps a poetry gift for someone special in your life, from our talented resident poet, Butch Schwarzkopf. FREE, everyone welcome. 

Felt crown workshops

Make a gorgeous felt crown - a fun alternative to a beanie! Add some decorations to make it fabulous and take your beautiful crown home to keep warm during the winter!

FREE, suitable for ages 5+.

Paper lantern workshops

Make a paper lantern to light up the winter night. Add a battery-operated tea light and take it home to share with the family.
