LGBTQI+

Youth Diversity LGBTQIA

Civil rights for LGBTQI+ community have progressed enormously in the past half a century, and Australia is at the forefront of the push towards true equality and inclusion for LGBTQI+ people.

Pride Month and Pride festivals around the country are opportunities to celebrate diversity and protest discrimination and violence. But there there is still a long way to go.

We all need support sometimes, and the queer community is no exception. In fact, LGBTQI+ people often face additional mental stress due to experiencing stigma, discrimination and abuse on the basis of being different.

Below are some support services relevant to LGBTQI+ people, their families and friends, and books at Kiama Library with LGBTQI+ themes.
