David ‘Rex’ Hazlewood was born in Sydney (Dulwich Hill) in 1886. His father, David Hazlewood, was a keen amateur photographer, which is where Rex developed his passion for photography.
Rex Hazlewood died in March 1968, leaving behind a wonderful legacy of photographs that can be accessed via the State Library of New South Wales.
