Changes to services and opening hours

Kiama and Gerringong libraries are open and operating with Library Express, in accordance with current health orders.

The Kiama Family History Centre has re-opened with reduced hours (Thursdays and Fridays 9.30am - 3.30pm, and Saturdays 9.30am - 2.00pm). Bookings essential, ph 02 4233 1122.

If you'd prefer to continue social distancing by staying at home, our eLibrary is always open, and you can return items after-hours through our 24/7 external return chutes.


Service NSW app 

ManWe are using the Service NSW app for you to register your visit. We recommend you download the app before visiting.  

A paper-based sign-in option is available if you're unable to use the app. 


Library Express

The health and wellbeing of our customers and staff is our priority, and Library Express allows us to offer a safe service that meets social distancing and hygiene guidelines.

While there are some restrictions on our regular services, we are also pleased to launch some exciting innovations, such as our new library app and self-check options to help make your experience safer and easier.

• Kiama Library now closes 7pm Tuesday and Thursday nights until further notice

• Maximum 100 customers in the library

 1.5 metre social distancing

• Five public computers available for 30-minute sessions (renewals available depending on demand).

• Self-check options – download our new Kiama Library App for a contact-free checkout with your own device, or use our new self-check station

• Cashless transactions preferred

• Most events and programs have now resumed - check our What's On schedule

Study and works spaces available

• Daily newspapers available


COVID-19 safety plan

A Kiama and Gerringong libraries COVID-19 safety plan has been developed, based on NSW Government guidelines, to help create a safe environment for library customers and staff. 

The Kiama Family History Centre COVID-19 safety plan can be viewed here. 

Please sign in and use sanitiser on entering the library, and sanitising wipes to clean computer equipment before use. And please stay at home if you are unwell.


Your library @ home
