Kiama Library is open from 11 October 2021 with some restrictions (Library Express), in accordance with current health orders.

Gerringong Library and the Kiama Family History Centre remain closed for the time being.

We're open with 'Library Express'

The health and wellbeing of our customers and staff is our priority, and our Library Express service allows us to offer a safe service that meets current public health requirements.

Reduced operating hours

Kiama Library is open 10am – 3pm Monday-Friday, and 10am - 1pm on Saturdays.

Gerringong Library remains closed until the new library opens later in the year.

The Kiama Family History Centre remains closed for the time being.

Visitor check-in

All staff and visitors aged 16 and above must be double-vaccinated to enter the library. Please have your printed or digital vaccination certificate ready when you visit.

(If you are unvaccinated, please reserve your items via the Library App or online catalogue, or phone us on 02 4233 1133 to request a Librarian’s Choice selection. When you are notified your items are ready, call 02 42233 1133 to organise safe collection.)

It is compulsory to register your visit. Please sign in with the Service NSW app or use the alternative sign-in option provided.

Facemasks are mandatory for all customers and staff, except children aged 12 and under, and people with a medical exemption (documentation must be provided).

Please use sanitiser on entering our premises, and use sanitising wipes to clean computer equipment before use.

Please stay at home if you are unwell.

Social distancing restrictions

• Maximum 50 customers in the library

• 1.5 metre social distancing

• Eight public computers available for 30-minute sessions with no renewals

• Most events and programs are postponed or have gone online - check our Events schedule

• Study and works spaces temporarily unavailable

• Daily newspapers temporarily unavailable

• Cashless transactions preferred

• Self-check options – download our Library app for a contact-free checkout with your own device, or use our self-check station

A Kiama Library Services COVID-19 safety plan(PDF, 136KB) has been developed for our venues, based on NSW Government guidelines, to help create a safe environment for our customers and staff.
