Borrowing limits

Members are able to borrow a total of 20 items at one time. Temporary members may borrow 6 items.

Borrowing is limited to two items on the same subject or by the same author per family.

How long can I borrow items for?

Borrowing period

The borrowing period for items is 4 weeks. 

Reserve or renew

Please renew your items on or before their due date. 

Items can be renewed up to two times providing there are no reservations on them.

The easiest way to renew and reserve items is to download the library app on your mobile device.

Alternatively, log on to your account via the online catalogue and follow the prompts.

After-hours returns

A return chute is located near the front entrance at Kiama Library.

Overdue items

Please return your books on time to allow others to use these resources. Overdue items may result in a temporary withdrawal of borrowing privileges until the items are returned or a replacement fee is otherwise paid.

Special services

Home Library

If you’re housebound, our Home Library service will deliver items to you for free.

Sight-impaired

If you are sight-impaired, inquire about our assistive technology and increases to borrowing limits for audio books.

Loans from other libraries

Request loans of items from other libraries throughout Australia. Fees apply. Ask at the library.

Languages other than English

Order boxes of books in community languages, free of charge.

Library e-resource training

A free service for individuals and groups, including students - ask at the library

Book clubs

For an annual fee, your book club can now access to over 60 book club kits.

Or if you're looking to get involved in a book club, ask about our library-supported book clubs, which meet monthly at the library .

Toy Library

Our Toy Library for younger children promotes development through play, with membership open to families (and grandparents, too) for an annual fee.
