Below is a list of the shipwrecks off the coast of Kiama, Minnamurra and Gerringong. Some of the sinkings were right on the border with Shellharbour. We enter them here for interest sake.

Alexander Berry

The Kiama Life Saving Brigade were quickly on the scene however she broke up rapidly, drowning the captain all but one of her crew of five. The captain was chief officer of the steamer Tasman when lost south-east tasmania, 1883, and blamed for her loss.
